Who do you typically work with?
Most clients are individuals and couples planning for or living in retirement, established professionals, multigenerational families, and owners of closely held businesses.
Are you a fiduciary?
When providing investment advisory services, Oakline is required to act in the best interest of advisory clients and disclose material conflicts of interest.
How are you compensated?
Oakline provides planning and investment advisory services for fees described in written agreements and regulatory disclosure documents. We review the structure before you decide to proceed.
Do you receive commissions?
Oakline does not represent that every potential conflict is eliminated. Specific compensation arrangements and affiliations would be disclosed in the firm’s Form ADV and client agreement.
Do you prepare tax returns or legal documents?
No. We do not provide legal services or tax-return preparation. With permission, we can coordinate planning considerations with your attorney or accountant.
Where are client assets held?
For ongoing investment advisory relationships, client assets would generally be held at an independent qualified custodian and remain in accounts titled in the client’s name.
Can you guarantee investment results?
No. Investing involves risk, and no advisor can guarantee returns or prevent all losses. Planning projections are estimates based on assumptions that may change.
What should I bring to the first meeting?
A list of your main questions and a general picture of household finances are usually enough. Sensitive documents are requested through secure delivery methods only after engagement.
