FOUNDER & SENIOR FINANCIAL PLANNER
Tom founded Oakline Financial Planning in 2004 after more than a decade in trust, investment, and planning roles with regional financial institutions. He works primarily with people approaching retirement, retirees coordinating multiple income sources, and families navigating inheritance or other significant transitions.
Tom earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from Arizona State University. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and completes ongoing education in retirement income planning, investment management, ethics, and regulatory responsibilities.
Before recommendations are made, Tom wants clients to understand not only what is being proposed, but also the assumptions, tradeoffs, and alternatives involved.

Melissa joined Oakline in 2012 and became a principal in 2021. Her work focuses on established professionals, multigenerational families, women navigating financial transitions, and owners of closely held businesses.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in economics from Northern Arizona University and holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. Her continuing education has emphasized tax-aware planning, equity compensation, education funding, and charitable strategies.
Melissa is known for turning long lists of competing priorities into a smaller number of practical next steps that families can work through over time.
